The Demise of Ergonomics

The demand for the maximum amount of information in the thinnest package is increasing. With electronics becoming smaller and the aesthetic of minimalism and integration being the new norm, ergonomic details of products are lost.
Its practice is reduced to something as simplistic as the location of a power button.

Phones in particular are becoming large, seamless obelisks that yield no obvious way for human interaction.
The Response of Nature

We are forced by brands to find new and novel ways of using their products, from supporting your phone with your little finger while you scroll, to stretching to reach the furthest away app.

The relenting anthropometric unsympathetic nature of technology poses a question;

What if nature would provide us a solution to these issues by changing the biological structure of our hands, in order to adapt to the modern age of technology?
1 - Enlarged Thumb
Natural selection leads to thumbs increasing in size. As this has a significant advantage when looking for potential mates.
2 - Grippy Skin
Smooth surfaces of phones force skin to become grippier in order to protect this new extention of the human form.
3 - Finger Ledge
Prolonged bending of the little finger leads to a permanent deformation of the finger. The fingers thickness increases to improve holding strength.
