Design of a multi-function propulsion system for wheelchair users. The system consists of a small wheel with an electric motor and a battery.
Lightweight and manoeuvrable, the Klaxon Twist is designed to accompany the user on every journey.
Design Sprint
This project was completed as a two-week design sprint for Klaxon. They wanted to move away from the functional aesthetics of their current products, ending up with a product that would appeal to a wider range of customers. By modernizing the aesthetics and getting rid of the 'medical device' look, the end user's relationship with the product becomes more positive.
The product also had to be easy to use, and simplicity was at the forefront of the design.
