The Goal
This mask was designed for service providers who have to wear face mask for extended periods of time (up to 8h a day). The main goal of the project was to provide wearers with long-lasting comfort, that they would be willing to wear all day. Another aspect was improving facial visibility, which would improve the worker-public relationship, and make people feel safer whilst travelling.

Production
The mask was developed with the production partner Scott in Austria. The aim was to have a fully European mask to reduce CO2 production during transport. The design has been optimised for injection moulding. Due to the lead time of producing the mould, EDERA offers customers a 3d printed mask during mould production.

Customisation
We decided to include the option of a custom mask. We collaborated with the app Scandy3D to offer customers the opportunity to scan their face and for us to then model the mask around their face scan in Rhino. We could then print this mask to ensure a proper fit and sealing

Heating System Development
Condensation can be an issue in colder months due to the temperature difference of the breath against the cold face shield. As a result, a transparent heating sticker was designed to regulate the temperature of the mask and reduce the possibility of condensation.
